Blackberry, once seen as a company that lacks innovation, is now trying one thing after another. Their latest effort is the Blackberry passport which is a square shaped smartphone with a new keyboard layout for faster typing.
OS and Processor
The Blackberry Passport runs on the Blackberry 10.3 OS, which seems to be the most underappreciated OS in the market. It has the ability to side load most of the Android applications apart from Blackberry’s own applications. There is also the Blackberry Assistant, a personal assistant from the Blackberry stable. This device is powered by a Quad Core Snapdragon 800 processor, so that there is no shortage of processing power. A smooth processing is ensured by 3GB of RAM.
The Blackberry Passport features a 4.5 inches capacitive touchscreen with 1440 x 1440 pixels resolution. This display has an Aspect ratio of 1:1, which makes reading documents or text more comfortable. There is a physical keyboard below the screen, which makes typing easier and faster. There is a 3,450mAh battery onboard to ensure you get plenty of juice to last more than a day.
Camera and Memory
The rear facing camera is 13MP with LED flash while the front facing one is 2MP. Photography should not be an issue in daylight, even though it might suffer a little in lowlight. There is an internal memory of 32GB, which can be expanded up to 64GB with a microSD card.
Internet connectivity options include GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G LTE. It has Wi-Fi hotspot that will allow you to share your Internet connection to other devices. For file transferring, you can depend on Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and also USB.
