Tips to Consider When Buying a Pair of Heels

Picking the perfect heels is really challenging, especially as you need to ensure that they fit well, they don’t kill your toes, and they’re perfectly alluring with your ensemble. Unlike with the usual Adidas sneakers or loafers (where all you need to worry about is size), you need to put a lot of things into consideration. However, the following tips should be sufficient to guide you:

Practice walking with the heels before you take them out.

When you get to the store, it is important that you see how the heels feel before you purchase them. To wit, feel free to walk around the store or at home to see how they are. You need to make sure that apart from ease when outing them on, they have to fit and feel comfortable for quite a while. You have the freedom to return the shoes if you don’t like how they feel, just as long as you haven’t worn them outside or anything. As much as you can, wear the heels around the house because although a pair of heels might feel comfortable at first, they could just as well become unbearable after a few minutes.

  • When you wear the heels, you might notice that your steps become a tad shorter. This is normal as your steps become shorter with an increase in the height of heels you wear. Don’t feel like you need to strut like you’re wearing Nike shoes sneakers.
  • When you’re walking, also make sure that your heels say vertical. If they roll on the side, the heels could slip and you’ll definitely fall. Really not good.

Select the ideal heel height.

The perfect height is usually between one and three inches. If your heels go over three inches, your mode of walking will be different and there’ll be more pressure on your lower back, your knees and your ankles. If you’re a beginner with heels stay safe and work your way up. Choose a height you’re comfortable with and it will work pretty well for you.

Make sure that your toes feel comfortable in the heels.

You need to make sure that your heels have enough space for your toes to fit in. if your shoes are not spacious enough, it will lead to crammed toes and you’ll definitely feel pain. If you wear heels that don’t have enough space on a consistent basis, you have a higher chance of developing corns, unions, hammer toes, and even arthritis.

Note the following:

  • Heels with round toes and almond toes will provide you with much more room, as opposed to heels with classic pointy toes.
  • You can also opt for pointy toes with even slightly rounded almond shapes. These ones also provide enough room (at least, much more than the classic pointy toes as well).
  • You’ll get generally much more room with a deeper toe box than with a shallower one. You’ll feel much more comfortable wearing pointy toes with deep toe boxes than round toes with extremely shallow toe-boxes.
